Local Boy Trying To Make Good

This just in from Jim Markley, long time Coeur d’Alene local, proud father and Huckleberries blurker: “Local jazz lovers may remember a band, Dry With  A Twist that played in the area a few years back.  Their keyboardist, Alan Markley, who was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene and now lives in Brooklyn, is still making music.  In fact, among other things that he has been up to he is a finalist in a song contest that is being put on by the Brooklyn Brewery.  Alan reports that he has been looking for votes and “kissing babies and making promises of lower taxes left and right, but I still have a little way to go before I overtake the song currently in first place.” Jim has already asked all of his friends to vote for Alan’s song and is now asking strangers (and even his enemies) to do the same thing.
