Mary: Wait’ll Next Year
Mary Souza’s latest newsletter reads more like a medical report than the usual laundry list of all that’s wrong
with our viewtiful city by the lake. But Mary deserves a hat tip for taking the summer off, after the failed Souza/Orzell/Sims recall attempted against Mayor Sandi Bloem, Mary’s arch nemesis Councilman Mike Kennedy, and council members Deanna Goodlander and Woody McEvers. Mary has a couple of grievances — employee raises and payment for a public relations person for Lake City Development Corp. However, there’s not much to the latest newsletter other than Mary’s announcement that she’s kicking back until September — and this statement: “Summer is too short to waste on such frustrations. We all know the next city election in 2013 is our target, so let’s enjoy the gorgeous weather while we can.” You can interpret that to mean … there won’t be a second attempt at recall and, as expected, Mary & her Hard Right allies will be out to take over the City Council in November 2013. You’ve been warned.

Question: Are you ready to face Mary & the local Republican hordes who are trying to export more of their dysfunctionalism to the Coeur d’Alene City Council in fall 2013?
