Insurance picks half right
I am disappointed to see The Spokesman-Review is again endorsing Mike Kreidler for insurance commissioner. Twelve years in office is long enough. Recently, Kreidler’s decision to not allow health plans that only cover generic prescriptions wasn’t a protection for Washington policyholders, it hurt 45,000 citizens by taking away their access to prescription drug coverage. These citizens now have to pay full price for their medications, which they can’t afford. Nor can they pay more premiums for a plan that offers both generic and brand drugs but only after a deductible is met and only at 50 percent. Many of these people cannot change to another plan because of pre-existing conditions. How did that help?
Thank you for also endorsing Scott Reilly as well. It’s time for a fresh attitude and someone who truly wants to look out for our citizens and insurance agents’ best interest.
