Cowan for the people

As a longtime journalist, I’ve been fortunate to know many fine representatives from both the Republican and Democratic parties; elected leaders who worked with those on the other side and came up with effective legislation to address important issues.

Today, in stark contrast, we have people in Congress who refuse to budge from their ideology and simply vote party line on every matter.

The result is that nothing gets done.

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers exemplifies this type of intransigence.

She can be counted on to recite her memorized message points from party leadership. She appears regularly as a set piece behind House Speaker John Boehner. But she has failed her constituents miserably.

We need a representative who will actually work for the people, not the party.

Rich Cowan is such a candidate. From humble beginnings Cowan built a thriving regional business, spurred the Northwest film industry, and created hundreds of jobs. He understands the needs of our businesses and communities, and is willing to work with all sides to craft meaningful solutions to the issues we face.

Isn’t that the kind of representative we want? I urge you to join me with a vote for Rich Cowan for Congress.
