School Levy Absentee Balloting Starts
Kootenai County Clerk Cliff Hayes announced that in-person absentee voting is now available for the August 28 school levy elections. This election affects only voters in these three school districts:
- Coeur d’Alene School District 271 (bond levy question)
- Lakeland Joint School District 272 (plant facility levy question)
- Kootenai Joint School District 274 (bond levy question)
Voters in any of these three school districts can go to the County Elections office on weekdays between 8AM and 5PM, starting August 13, 2012 through Friday August 24, 2012 to cast their ballots. Each of the sample ballots is available on the County’s website. Mailed absentee ballot request forms are available on the County’s website at www.kcgov.us/elections/AbsenteeBallotApplication.pdf. These requests can be mailed, faxed or delivered to the Elections office, 1808 N. Third in Coeur d’Alene. The last day to request a mailed absentee ballot is Aug. 22.
DFO: For the record, I’ll be voting for the Coeur d’Alene School District levy.
