Pinehurst Trailhead: Woman Attacked
SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — A woman holding her young child was attacked Monday afternoon while leaving a popular swimming hole on the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s.
The woman was walking to her car just west of the Pine Creek Trail Head parking lot around 1:30 p.m. when she said a white man grabbed her from behind.
The woman was able to free herself and run to her car with her child. She left the area immediately and did not see where the suspect ran off.
Shoshone County Sheriff’s deputies could not find the attacker when they arrived to investigate.
The suspect is described as a white male, very tan, black greasy hair, black beard, black mustache, potbelly and approximately 5’8 to 6’0 inches tall.
Deputies believe the man is a transient who may be hitchhiking.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office.
