PASSED! All Three School Tax Measures

The Kootenai County Elections Department has announced the following results with  over 96% of the total votes counted:

• The Coeur d’Alene School District #271 has passed it’s bond measure with 71.64% of the vote.  The district needed 66.66% to succeed.
• The Lakeland School District has passed it’s SPFL with 60.52% of the vote.  Lakeland needed 55% to succeed.
• The Kootenai Joint School District #274 passed it’s bond measure with 76.06% of the vote.  The district needed 66.66% to succeed.

Lakeland’s vote followed a failed levy attempt last spring.  Both CdA SD#271 and Kootenai Joint #274 needed 66 and two-thirds approval (a super majority) to pass their bonds.  In this economy, are you surprised at the success for all three districts?
