In Pac-12 football news … Arizona began the bowl season on a positive note for the Pac-12, storming back to take a 49-48 win over Nevada in the final seconds after recovering an onside kick. … USC’s backup quarterbacks are stepping up in practice. … One of Stanford’s backup quarterbacks is transferring . … Oregon might have a hard time forcing turnovers against its Fiesta Bowl opponent. … An Oregon State linebacker will have a homecoming of sorts in the Alamo Bowl. … UCLA’s star linebacker is likely to return to school next season. … Colorado’s older players will play for their third coach next season. … Washington’s offensive line wants to get back on track in its bowl game.

In addition to the Wildcats’ frenzied bowl win, they also took a narrow , 65-64 win over Florida in basketball. … California lost 74-64 at home to No. 16 Creighton. … Stanford beat UC Davis 75-52 yesterday. … Arizona State beat Dartmouth in a thriller, 61-42. … Washington didn’t play real well in a 75-67 win over Jackson State. … UCLA took a step forward with a 95-53 thumping of Prairie View A&M. … USC hammered UC-Riverside, 70-26. … Oregon beat Nebraska , 60-38, to move to 8-1.
