Big opportunity for Eags

After a tough first half, things couldn’t have gone better Thursday night for the Eastern Washington men’s basketball team, which rallied to beat the Lumberjacks 74-68.

The Eagles evened their conference record to 5-5, and got a great opportunity to improve  their postseason situation

Als Thursday, Northern Colorado and Portland State both lost, putting the Eagles a game ahead of both teams and alone in fifth place. It could get better - if Eastern can beat Sacramento State tomorrow (6 p.m. at Reese Court), and, while Portland State falls at NAU and Montana State falls to Montana, the Eags would move into fourth place.

And it’s no stretch to think that Eastern could be in a tie for third by this time next week, since Idaho State visits Montana.
