Not much news on this holiday
COUGARS
FROM PULLMAN — This is Peter Gibbons’ kind of Monday — a holiday, a day off from school, and a day off from work. For most, anyway. There isn’t much out there in terms of news, but we’ve put together what links we found for your morning post.
…
There is very, very little out there pertaining to WSU. The baseball team picked up its first win of the season, beating Mississippi State in the first game of a double-header on Sunday. The Bulldogs won the second game to take the best-of-three series. And that’s about all we have here. … UPDATE: Somehow missed this feature on Klay Thompson by Howie Stalwick in the Kitsap Sun.
There was one game in the Pac-12 yesterday. Oregon beat Stanford , 68-64, to salvage a split of the Bay Area trip and stay in NCAA tournament contention. Though I see ESPN.com’s Joe Lunardi has slotted the Ducks into his ” next four out ” category in his latest Bracketology. Stanford was bad at the free throw line . … Bud Withers takes a good look at why the Pac-12 has fallen off so dramatically in recent years. … Jon Wilner has some thoughts on this weekend’s Pac-12 happenings, and what it all means in regards to the NCAA tournament bubble. … Colorado’s seniors return home this week for their final games at Coors Events Center. … Arizona is hoping to re-gain Jordin Mayes for the stretch run. … An Oregon State cornerback ran into some legal trouble over the weekend. … Utah still isn’t winning, but the Utes are at least getting better .
All for now.
