Eagles are in, and hope for more
With a huge road win last night, Eastern Washington clinched a spot in the Big Sky Conference tournament. We told you that much in this morning’s paper, but not the reason, which are losses the same night by Northern Colorado and Sacramento State.
The Eagles (7-7) will finish at least sixth thanks in part to Northern Colorado’s 88-71 loss to Weber State, which put the Bears three games behind EWU in the loss column.
EWU still has a shot at a home berth in the quarterfinals on March 3. In fact, regardless of the outcome of Saturday’s game at Portland State, the Eagles would clinch a home berth by beating, and therefore sweeping, Idaho State, on Tuesday at Reese Court.
