Veterans groups step up

As the director of personnel for the Idaho National Guard, I would like to take a moment to thank the members of VFW Post 889, VFW Post 889 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 143, Spokane Heroes, American Veterans, the VFW Department of Washington and the Marine Corps League Post 586.

On Dec. 2-4, we held a very successful “Yellow Ribbon” reintegration event for more than 400 returning Iraq veterans of the Idaho Army National Guard and their families in Spokane.

The comradeship shown by these veterans service organizations in Washington and Idaho to our recently returned citizen soldiers and their families will not be forgotten.
