Fables corrupt thinking

I just read Michael Nicholl’s letter (“Slippery slope to Sodom,” Jan. 11) regarding gay marriage and was so offended that I had to respond. Nicholl, I’m sorry your belief in fairy tales, myths and fables has corrupted your reasoning. Yes, I’m talking about your use of the Bible to justify your bigotry.

The Bible was not written by God. It was written by men to frighten and control the uneducated population to conform to their way of thinking. Those who do not support equality for all people should find themselves on the other side of their intolerance to see firsthand what it’s like to be excluded.
