Tune out religious zealots

The number of anti-gay letters to the editor appearing lately is making me very concerned. I’m guessing one of our local conservative Christian churches is on a rampage against Spokane citizens who are gay or lesbian. These Christians have no right to proof-text Scripture. They have no understanding of biblical languages, nor have they studied the exegetics behind the written word.

Instead, they listen to a simple-minded preacher who attended Moody Bible Institute and are convinced they know God’s will, and divide us by hatred rather than building us into a community of love and respect.
