Bible study for Gingrich

It is interesting that Newt Gingrich said, “The sacrament of marriage was based on a man and woman, has been for 3,000 years.” This projects a Christian sacrament to the time of King David, 1,000 years before Christ. David, with Bathsheba, certainly did not hold himself to one wife and, in addition, kept concubines, as is clear in the story of Absalom’s usurpation of the throne (2 Samuel 17:20-23).
