Support great Mead schools

I feel fortunate to live in the Mead School District. We have a marvelous K-12 school system. Our district attracts top-notch teachers and administrators. Our schools and our educators win awards. We have activities, athletics and programs designed to make school fun and challenging for the students. This is accomplished with less administrative staff than specified by the state and a lower cost per student than other Spokane County school districts.

Great schools are one of the keys to a unified community. They can build future community leaders, business owners and competent employees. They can contribute to a solid housing market, while creating prosperous neighborhoods where businesses can thrive. They can bring contentment to parents and students as they learn and grow and make friends. They contribute to the quality of life for anyone in the Mead community, not just those who have students in the Mead schools.

This levy is an investment in our schools, our community and in these children and their futures. Even with its approval, taxes are still projected to drop from 2011 rates as the district continues to pay off debt. This levy will help keep our schools and our community strong.
