Athletics important, too

Colbert Elementary School recently finished its volleyball season. With twins in the school, we were busy four days a week with practice and games. The events were standing room only. It was fun to watch the kids working hard and having a good time. The Mead School District maintenance and operations levy renewal is due for a vote in February. The athletics in our schools are one of the many programs that are supported by this levy.

While reading, writing and arithmetic are fundamental in our education system, athletics are also important to help form a well-rounded student. Please vote yes on the levy Feb. 14.
