The beat goes on with Pac-12 links
COUGARS
FROM PULLMAN — Set a new personal record by covering the 72 miles between Spokane and Pullman in just a shade over an hour. Just in time to put together our morning post.
On the basketball side, we have our game story from ASU’s 71-67 win, plus our usual postgame entry with a quick overview. Also, we have a story giving an overview of WSU’s football recruiting efforts so far. … Bud Withers has a look at the Cougars’ assistant coaches . … The AP has a recap of Saturday’s game. … Here’s the game story from the Arizona Republic. … Lakes receiver Cedric Dozier will choose between Cal and WSU. …
Here’s a look at Saturday’s Pac-12 action …
Washington 69, Arizona 67 : Tony Wroten blocked a shot in the final seconds to move the Huskies into first place by themselves (for now, anyway). A questionable blocking call allowed UW to take the lead late.
UCLA 77, Colorado 60 : The Bruins ran away with this one at home, yet it’s considered an upset . Colorado fell apart after halftime .
USC 62, Utah 45 : Trojans win! Trojans win ! And Utah loses. Again .
And today’s games …
Oregon State at Oregon , 3:30 p.m.: Kevin McShane knows what it means to be a Beaver. Garrett Sim doesn’t. Not anymore , anyway. The game will be decided by toughness .
Stanford at California , 5:30 p.m.: Both teams are waiting for their sophomore classes to mature .
That’s all we have for now. We’ll be back if events merit.
