Post Falls Man Faces Assault Charges

At 10 o’clock this morning, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Dept. responded to the area of Schilling Loop and Riverview for a possible Aggravated Assault. The reporting party stated that her elderly neighbor had just come to their house and stated that her adult son had allegedly threatened her with a firearm last night and again this morning. Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter around the residence. Deputies attempted numerous times to contact the suspect. After a brief time the suspect made contact with the deputies via his cell phone. A conversation was started and after numerous calls back and forth the suspect exited the residence and surrendered peacefully. The suspect, Jessy C. Berry, age 33, of the Post Falls area, was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault/ Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department news release.
