Raul To Guvs: Reject Health Exchange

Joining 11 senators and 59 House members — including former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. — 1st Congressional District Rep. Raul Labrador is calling on governors to resist creating state health exchanges. Business groups favor the creation of an exchange, an online marketplace that enables individuals and small businesses to shop for insurance. Gov. Butch Otter had voiced support for the exchange, but backed away early in the 2012 legislative session, amidst opposition from lawmakers. Under the federal health care law, the federal government can create an exchange if states do not establish their own system. “I urge Gov. Otter to not implement an expensive, intrusive, punitive health exchange on the businesses and people of Idaho,” said Labrador. “I urge all governors to let Congress finish the job the American people sent us to do, to fully repeal Obamacare and replace it with common-sense free market solutions”/ Kevin Richert , Idaho Statesman. Question: What do you think of Congressman Labrador’s stand on health exchanges?
