Kerri Luvvas Parade

Kerri Thoreson: I had the pleasure of announcing the parade again this year from the skybox between 2nd and 3rd Streets on Sherman. Mayor Bloem was waving and interacting with the crowd from the back of a Harley. Deanna was in the passenger seat of a convertible which isn’t the best visibility and Mike Kennedy was driving a vintage pickup with five of his children in the back. Again, not the best visibility from a driver’s seat and I think he was struggling a bit with driving so slow with a clutch. Dan Gookin must have made a last minute decision to ride in one of the city’s snowplow truck (with the high school student painted plow blades) so I quite by accident spotted him there and was able to announce him to the crowd. But on the official parade line up those were the only council members who were confirmed to be participating. (Duane Rasmussen photo special for Huckleberries Online)
