Give firefighters a break

I am getting a little tired of Spokane citizens complaining about firemen and their daily routines.

My stepson is a fireman and I know what he had to learn about containing certain fires and what chemicals to use and not to use.

They put their life on the line every time they respond to a fire. They also extract persons from wrecked vehicles. I suggest these citizens that are complaining about firemen, the next time you have a fire, call a salesman, engineer or whatever your occupation is to combat the situation.

I don’t think the citizens in Colorado are complaining about firemen. Firemen from different cities and states volunteer their time and lives to assist in these fires.

The complaint about the training fire around the Hutton settlement in the Millwood area surprises me. I live in that area, and I don’t recall a large amount of smoke, if any. This training is vital in educating firemen on how to combat certain fires.

Give them a break.
