Mountain West: We Don’t Want UI

Well, you can eliminate one destination for the Idaho Vandals. As the Vandals seek a home for its football program with the WAC wilting, the Mountain West would make geographic sense, but on Wednesday, commissioner Craig Thompson squashed the idea. “In all fairness to New Mexico State and Idaho, we informed them they will not be members of the Mountain West — go onto plan B,” Thompson said. New Mexico State and Idaho are the only two teams currently planning on playing football in the WAC in 2013. Two schools, Texas-San Antonio and Texas State, had announced plans to join, and will play in the WAC this season, but will go to different conferences next year/ Dave Southorn, Tom Fox , Idaho Press-Tribune.
