Clinton Popularity Now At 66%
Bill Clinton is back. Back to where he stood in the public’s eye at inauguration. Two-thirds of Americans
surveyed have a favorable opinion of the 42nd president of the United States, the
Gallup Poll has found
– and that 66 percent approval places him back at where he stood at inauguration in January 1993. There have been some low moments along the road — Clinton’s favorability falling to 39 percent in early 2001, after leaving office with a flourish, granting pardons to people like fugitive financier Marc Rich on the way out. Yet over the course of nearly 20 years, with a lot of globe-trotting philanthropy to his name, Clinton has made good on the tale of the “comeback kid,” by Gallup’s count. Small wonder
