Major Hydro Announcement Friday

A major announcement re: hydroplanes will be made by the Coeur d’Alene Diamond Cup Committee at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Silver Beach Marina, 3204 Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive. Special guests have been asked to RSVP. The announcement will be followed by a 45-minute tour on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Earlier this spring, Huckleberries print speculated from well-placed sources that the Diamond Cup Committee, headed by Dennis Wheeler and Brad Hagadone, was planning for the return of hydroplane racing on Lake Coeur d’Alene. The races will be staged along Silver Beach to get around a voter prohibition from holding the races off the city of Coeur d’Alene shoreline. You can read that Huckleberries column here.
