Poll: Hucks Nation Backs Hydros

• Tuesday Poll: In a squeaker, a plurality of Hucks Nation sez it would support the return of hydroplane races to Lake Coeur d’Alene, if the city of Coeur d’Alene held another advisory/initiative vote on the matter. That’s a far cry from the 74% who opposed hydroplane races in a 1985 advisory vote and the two-thirds that opposed them in a 1996 initiative vote. 122 of 261 respondents (46.74%) to Tuesday’s poll said they support the hydroplane races, which will be held off Silver Beach on Labor Day weekend this year. 117 of 261 respondents (44.83%) said they would still vote no on the races. 22 (8.43%) were undecied.
