Competing amendments to teen tanning bill snag House, one set lacks author’s name
The House has moved HB 486a, the bill to ban minors from using tanning beds due to the cancer risk, to the bottom of its calendar of bills being amended this afternoon, after competing amendments were distributed, some of them lacking the required information, including who sponsored them. House Majority Leader Mike Moyle said by the time the House gets to that bill, the missing information will be provided.
When the bill was last up in committee, similar questions were raised about an anonymous handout; it turned out to have come from Idaho Freedom Foundation lobbyist Wayne Hoffman, who has been working to derail the bill.
