Notification too late
I was reading the Doonesbury comic strip in the Monday (March 12) paper and realized it was a rerun from a year ago. Oh well, I thought, that master of satire, cartoonist Garry Trudeau, is just taking a well-earned vacation. But no. Later, I realized that someone at The Spokesman-Review has decided that the subject matter of this week’s Doonesbury (abortion) is too controversial.
I accept that newspapers have the right to print (or censor) anything they want, but as a loyal reader, I would ask that you at least tell us when you are censoring Doonesbury so that we can look for the strip elsewhere, such as the Internet.
