2 Men Survive Hayden Lake Crash
A flight instructor and his student escaped injury this morning when their single-engine airplane crashed into
Hayden Lake, about one mile from the Honeysuckle boat ramp. Workers from Hayden Marina rescued student pilot Michael Bell, 61, of Spokane, and flight instructor Michael Kincaid, 62, of Coeur d’Alene, before emergency personnel arrived, according to a Kootenai County sheriff’s report. According to the instructor, the wheeled landing gear was left down, flipping the float plane during a landing attempt. The men had originally taken off from the Coeur d’Alene Airport in Hayden this morning. Crews manning the Northern Lakes Fire Boat used absorption pads to soak up leaking petroleum products. The plane is still in the lake.
Question: Do you enjoy riding in small planes?
