JohnA: Gettin’ Better All The Time
JohnA:
Things are beginning to change. First, with education: there is the KTEC in Rathdrum so we can train the higher-skilled workers that industries need. Then, there’s Paul and Lorna Finman’s vision for high tech
businesses, including robotics. Paul’s a Kellogg guy who made a fortune and came back with a vision. And of course there is the Ed Corridor and the chance to educate and retain the children who used to leave for college someplace else and never came back (until they retired, that is.) Meanwhile, you see Empire Airlines at their facility at the airport maintaining FedEx planes amd Ground Force providing higher-paying jobs. In the revitalized Silver Valley you’ll see increased business for the metals refineries from the high-paying mining industry, which with silver at its all time high will only continue to grow.
More below.
Question: Are things changing for the better in Coeur d’Alene area? Or will the CAVEr movement shut things down?
The hidden gem from the Kroc Centers and Libraries and McEuen Fields is that business people are fleeing the population centers and looking for progressive places where they actually WANT to live, with a highly-trained workforce at the ready. Every time a convention comes to town the opportunity to grow our region increases. With incentives via grants from the Department of Commerce coupled with urban renewal to help with infrastructure high tech businesses from around the country will see the opportunity provided in north Idaho.
It’s only a matter of time because we’ve certainly got the place.
