Marty Adds To Jorgenson Pledge List

From latest Cheers & Jeers column by Marty Trillhaase /Lewiston Tribune: CHEERS … to former state Sen. Mike Jorgensen, R-Hayden. Running against Sen. Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, the Hart ally who defeated him two years ago, Jorgensen has struck back with this gimmick: Daring all GOP candidates in Legislative District 2 to sign a “Republican Principle Pledge” to “obey the law, honor Idaho courts and pay my taxes.” Do we really have to remind lawmakers to follow the law and pay taxes? Are we missing anything else? If you’ve got to tie Hart and his friends down to the obvious, then you can’t leave anything to chance. After consulting some experts — our mothers — we submit the following additions to Jorgenson’s good citizen pledge:

  • Don’t chew with your mouth open.
  • Put the seat down after your flush.
  • Look both ways before crossing the street.
  • Pick up those dirty socks. Put the towel in the laundry hamper. Rinse those dirty dishes. What am I, your slave?

Question: What other common sense rules should be in former state senator Mike Jorgenson’s “Republican Principle Pledge”?
