MWC TO Idaho: Don’t Call Us …

The University of Idaho has been left high and dry by all the shakeups in the landscape of college football. But that’s okay. The Vandals are not bitter. Or so they say. Speaking to reporters in a teleconference on Friday, Idaho Athletic Director Rob Spear confirmed he tried to get the Vandals into the Mountain West, but the Mountain West did not want to hear what he had to say. The reason? Lack of market size. Simply put, the media markets that cover the Vandals are too small for the Mountain West. Boise. Spokane. Kennewick, Pasco and Richland. It is altogether too small, according to what MWC commissioner Craig Thompson told the president of the University of Idaho, and there aren’t enough TVs on those areas to warrant adding the Vandals to the fold/ Jared Frank , KHQ.
