Moderator Defends Sheriff’s Forum

In response to Doug Shevalier’s letter to the editor concerning the April 20th Sheriff’s forum, I am the chairman of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee elections subcommittee which organized the event. It was my decision to allow the film clip. When John Green asked me if he could show a brief clip, I immediately called Ben Wolfinger and Keith Hutcheson to tell them they also could use the media available. They both responded it was too short of notice to prepare anything. To be fair, I asked John Green the content of his clip. I would not have allowed it, if I thought it not relevant. The clip was from Fox News showing FBI director, Robert Mueller being questioned by congress about the U.S. Government assassinating U.S. citizens abroad without trial. Mueller stated he did not remember in a meeting with current administration whether they addressed killing U.S. citizens on U.S. soil/ Ron Mendive , pictured (from Mendive for Idaho Web site), Coeur d’Alene Press letter to the editor. Question: What does a film clip about U.S. government action in a foreign country have to do with being sheriff in Kootenai County?
