McMillan Wins 3-Way HD7 GOPrimary
State Rep. Shannon McMillan, R-Silverton, easily won GOPrimary nomination — and re-election since she’ll be unopposed in the general election — in her first race in the new House District 7, which touches four counties. McMillan won 2564 votes, to outdistance controversial former gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell (1625) and Ed Galloway (1177). Meanwhile, state Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll, R-Cottonwood, who attracted criticism for using a state mailing to contact Republicans in the new part of her district, easily won re-election with 4094 votes to Mary Wade Heston’s 1493. No Democrat is running in the Senate District 7 general election. In the primary elections for the other HD7 seat, Republican Paul Shepherd and Democrat James Paradiso ran unopposed and will meet in the general election in November.
