WWII veteran Tom DePew solemnly rings a bell as other veterans read the names of submarines and the number of sailors lost in action Monday, May 28, 2012, during a Memorial Day event on the shores of Hayden Lake. Other veterans of the submarine service dropped a wreath onto the lake’s surface nearby.
