Poll: Change Absentee Counting

• Tuesday-Wednesday Poll: Overwhelmingly, Hucks Nation sez County Clerk Cliff Hayes should begin tabulating absentee ballots earlier than he does, to speed up the election count. The Election Department didn’t finish counting the 19,000 absentees until shorty before midnight Tuesday. Then, the first two precincts weren’t counted until 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. 160 of 197 respondents (81.22%) said Hayes should change the way he handles the absentees. Only 33 of 197 (16.75%) support his current method. 4 (2.03%) were undecided.
