Bishop was condescending

I burst out laughing as I was reading the article in the Nov. 13 Spokesman-Review titled “Bishops discuss losses,” specifically the quote by Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone: “The election is a symptom of a much larger problem. Most people don’t understand what marriage is.”

Really? And the bishops do? The condescending tone of that statement coming from a group of never-married men is amazing and indicative of larger issues within the church. As a Catholic, I sometimes don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
