Voters are responsible

President Barack Obama and approximately 90 percent of the incumbent candidates in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate were re-elected.

These are the same legislative representatives that largely put our nation $17 trillion in debt. In addition, they are incapable of reaching agreement on how to deal with the growing national debt, the economic recession, high unemployment and many other important matters that affect our nation. And yet we, as voters, overwhelmingly re-elected these representatives.

Federal government programs are being underfunded by almost 45 percent. Our elected federal representatives do not have the courage to raise taxes to pay for these programs, nor do they have the courage to cut the programs. It is estimated that because of this inaction an additional $4 trillion will be added to the federal debt, leaving our nation $20 trillion in debt by 2016.

So, we will continue to live on deficits and debt until we bankrupt ourselves. Don’t like the above, then go look in the mirror; we have nobody to blame but ourselves for this mess. The election results of Nov. 6 clearly show this.
