COUGARS

FROM SALEM — We’re currently sitting in our hotel, watching SportsCenter and eating a double bacon cheeseburger from Sonic Drive-In. If Mike Riley could get In-N-Out to build a restaurant in Corvallis, I’d have stayed there. Anyway, here we go with a rundown of today’s Pac-12 action.

First, a reminder that we’ll hold our pregame chat at 1 p.m. (earlier this time, and hopefully a little smoother than last week’s internet disaster). … We’ll start where we usually start — the newspaper. Here’s our game advance and our 2-minute drill with some keys to a possible WSU victory (and in the interest of thorough reporting, we will remind you that WSU and OSU kick off at 3 p.m. today on the Pac-12 Networks). … Howie Stalwick previews the game in the Kitsap Sun. … Bud Withers has this preview box in the Seattle Times. … CougCenter asks some questions and gets some answers from someone familiar with Oregon State, and examines Connor Halliday’s rise to become WSU’s starting quarterback. … From Oregon State: here’s a preview of the game from the Beavers’ perspective. … The game is going to be a sellout and could be the largest crowd in Reser Stadium history. …

There are three other Pac-12 games today …

Arizona (3-2, 0-2 Pac-12) at Stanford (3-1, 1-1 Pac-12) , 3 p.m., FOX — The Cardinal wants to take football back in time , while Arizona would prefer to play a little faster .

UCLA (4-1, 1-1 Pac-12) at California (1-4, 0-2 Pac-12) , 7 p.m., Pac-12 Networks — Here’s a preview from the Orange County Register. Needless to say, Cal kind of really needs this one pretty bad. A Bears running back should come to the fore tonight.

Washington (3-1, 1-0 Pac-12) at Oregon (5-0, 2-0 Pac-12) , 7:30 p.m., ESPN — Washington wants to hang around in the second half for once against the Ducks. Here’s a preview from the Oregon side .

All for now. We’ll be back later from Reser Stadium.
