All Hail Columbus Day?

City Editor Addy Hatch of the SR tweets: “Two calls in about five minutes on our lack of celebration in print pages of Columbus Day. What were we thinking?” I know the banks have Columbus Day off. Dunno about the city of Coeur d’Alene and Kootenai County. I know that I don’t have today off, even though Columbus once stopped at my ancestral home, the Azores, during one of his voyages across the Atlantic.
