Mary Doubts Sandi’s Announcement

In another newsletter this week, Mary Souza is questioning the announcement by Mayor Sandi Bloem that the the current council has no intention of building a boat launch at Silver Beach. And, according to Mary, the mayor also stated during a workshop on the ITD proposal for the city to take over Lake Coeur d’Alene Drive: “We are keeping the Third Street launch.” The large crowd was incredulous, according to Mary. Who continues: “Looking none too pleased about the negative feedback, the Mayor reiterated her statements. Councilman Ron Edinger seemed surprised at the Mayor’s pledge, and asked about the council workshop three months ago, when CdA Parks Director Doug Eastwood showed them all detailed plans for a boat launch at the Beach House marina site. The Mayor answered Ron by saying those plans are no longer going forward.” More here.

Question: Could it be that the mayor simply is conceding that she’s satisfied with the McEuen Field compromise that includes the Third Street boat launch and some trailer parking for boat along Front Avenue?
