Coeur Group Debate On The Air

Just tuned in on Senate District 4 debate b/n Warren Ducote & state Sen. John Goedde debate & Independent Jeremy Boggess on Channel 19. Jimmy McAndrews is one of the three Coeur Group interviewers. Ducote opened by saying don’t pay attention to letter behind his name (D). But to his 18 years as a Lakes Middle School teacher and broad background. Goedde started his opening speech by embracing the Luna Laws, calling them superior to the previous 19th Century model.

  • Jimmy’s asking first question, to Boggess, re: bringing 21st century jobs to Coeur d’Alene.
  • I’m surprised how sold out Goedde is re: Luna Laws. He was foaming when he talked about a Coeur d’Alene Education Association rep who waved a cellphone at him two years ago during a debate. He thinks the merit pay of Luna Laws will draw top-notch teachers to Idaho. I wonder if he’s been paying attention to the exodus of teachers from Idaho over the last year.
  • Boggess had a good line re: the state giving teen-agers computers. He said he wouldn’t loan his computer to his nieces or nephews because it would be junk when they returned it.
