‘Ferris Bueller’ Actor ♥’s Idaho
Ben Stein, the roll-calling professor in the 1986 movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” loves Idaho. Many of you know that he has a summer home on Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint. Wednesday, he wowed the Boise Metro Club annual gala by praising Idaho to the max:
- RE: Idaho ‘paradise’: “We parked … virtually on the grass of the Capitol, and walked down some steps and into a tunnel and into the Capitol,” Stein said. “Not one guard, not one metal detector …”
- RE: Idaho trust: “It’s the same way in Sandpoint,” he said. “Everybody trusts everybody, everybody respects everybody. … You don’t do anything particularly bad because you’re all in the same wonderful club, the Idaho Club.” More here.
Question: Sometimes, with all the nasty politics in Kootenai County, I sometimes forget what a wonderful place this is. What wows you most about Idaho?
