Local GOP CC Opposes Govt Change
- Update: Resolution passed by county GOP CC last night here
The Kootenai County GOP Central Committee voted overwhelmingly last night to spend $200 to stage a public meeting in opposition to the proposed ballot measure that would streamline Kootenai County government. At most, a handful of individuals opposed the motion made at a special session of the Central Committee, including Ron Lahr, president of the Kootenai County Reagan Republicans and The Strategery Group. Strategery is handling PR work for the Streamline Kootenai County organization that supports the government change measure, which would add a county administrator and make four current elective office appointive — assessor, treasurer, coroner and clerk.
Question: Will the local GOP opposition to the county government change hurt Republican commissioners Dan Green & Todd Tondee, who support it?
