Honor code not met

Near the very end of the second presidential debate, Gov. Mitt Romney was just about to land the knockout punch to President Barack Obama when the referee, Candy Crowley, stepped in to save him with her “it’s in the transcript” call.

As commander in chief, the president must set the highest example of honesty. At our three service academies, honor is the supreme call and all midshipmen or cadets hold sacred their honor codes, which abhor lying or making evasive statements. I must emphasize “lying” and “evasive” are absolutely equivalent terms within the honor codes.

Regarding Benghazi-gate, the president is grievously guilty of violating both of these honor code standards. Any midshipman or cadet who violates this code is summarily dismissed from his or her academy.

This Nov. 6, America sits on the honor board in judgment of the commander in chief’s disregard for the honor code his subordinates live and breathe every day.
