Condon’s character

The true character of Mayor David Condon has finally been shown to the citizens of Spokane with his “selection” of the new police chief. Did anyone seriously believe that Mr. Straub’s selection wasn’t a foregone conclusion?

In federal hiring, it’s called pre-selection, which is illegal, and it occurs when an employer seeks to hire a specific individual. So that employer writes the job description to include experience the specific person has, tells the specific person to apply, and then proceeds to go through the ruse of a selection process, just to hire the specific person. It’s deceitful and wasteful of tax dollars.

If you didn’t see who Mayor Condon was when he came into office – fired longtime knowledgeable employees to replace them with campaign contributors and supporters – you should know now. He is dishonest and comfortable wasting your tax dollars on a ruse. Hopefully, voters will remember this at the next election.
