Pac-12 power rankings, week 2

As promised, here are our Pac-12 power rankings for the second week. A bit of movement, but it looks the same at the top.

1. Southern California (1-0, 0-0; last week: 1) – The Trojans did whatever they wanted against Hawaii last week. Expect more of the same against Syracuse, though USC would probably like to eliminate some of those dropped passes.
2. Oregon (1-0, 0-0; last week: 2) – Besides the uniforms, the Ducks’ season-opening win over Arkansas State was a thing of beauty. Interested to see how Marcus Mariota fares against Pac-12 teams.
3. Utah (1-0, 0-0; last week: 3) – A convincing win against Utah State could merit consideration for a bump up in these rankings.
4. Stanford (1-0, 0-0; last week: 4) – Thought about dropping the Cardinal a spot, but something tells me there’s more to Josh Nunes and that offense than what we saw against San Jose State. And nobody else in the conference looked real great, either.
5. Washington (1-0, 0-0; last week: 5) – Big week for the Huskies. Game at LSU will tell a lot about their character. And, you know, their talent.
6. UCLA (1-0, 0-0; last week: 8) – Bruins probably aren’t totally satisfied with their effort against Rice, but the big offensive totals bode well. Good test against Nebraska this week.
7. Arizona State (1-0, 0-0; last week: 10) – Todd Graham had plenty of nice things to say about his new quarterback after a rout of Northern Arizona. Will he take the same tone after ASU plays Illinois?
8. Arizona (1-0, 0-0; last week: 9) – Not many points, but tons of yards for Arizona in its opener. If Wildcats can figure out a way to convert those yards, look out.
9. California (0-1, 0-0; last week: 6) – Yeah, maybe don’t schedule Nevada anymore.
10. Washington State (0-1, 0-0; last week: 7) – Excitement might be hushed a bit, but WSU’s schedule still suggests a 3-1 start.
11. Colorado (0-1, 0-0; last week: 12) – Same old problems for Buffaloes in their opener. Running game needs to show up.

INC: Oregon State: Beavers obviously didn’t get to play last week, so they don’t factor into this week’s rankings. I’m eager to see how they play at home against a Wisconsin team that really took it to them a year ago.
