City unresponsive
We were one of the lucky households to receive new blacktop on our street. It took almost two months working two to three days a week to finish. But we still have a pile of debris in the middle of one of our two wheelchair ramps, left by the cement workers. Our lawn has large dead spots where the sprinklers are not set right, and we have never seen the man return to set them where they hit all of our lawn.
I do believe if the companies the city hired would have employed some of the many unemployed, the total job would have been completed in half the time, and not put off until next year like they are saying now. This being election year, that just might be the plan. One man would operate a large backhoe, jump off it and run a large scoop loader, and then get on a roller and flatten the road he just scooped. Why not three people?
After the job on our street was done about three weeks ago, I called the city’s construction department and told them about the debris in the wheelchair ramp. Five days later, I called again. I was told she was working on it.
Today, Sept. 3, I am writing you. The city directory has hundreds of phone numbers. Good luck getting a problem solved on any of them.
