I doubt that the zealots who flew the airliners into the twin towers and Pentagon 11 years ago realized that they were awakening a giant. I doubt that Osama bin Laden and others involved in the terrorist attack realized how many of their terrorist network would die and be run to ground as a result of the attack. Also, I doubt that they understood that America would rebound from the attack, retaliate and become more vigilant as a result. The dead terrorists failed. The USA remains strong.
