Create public works

Two of the greatest problems in the United States today are the decline of the middle class and decay of public energy, water and transportation systems. Would it be politically correct to pass a bill that would put people back to work repairing our own country? Take $50 billion a year from money dedicated to Afghanistan, and use it to create public works jobs for our own citizens.
